Another "Age-Old" Question
"Why me why me why me?!" You often hear this from others don't you? Or maybe you scream this yourself. I know I have! After all the good you've done, what could you possibly have done to deserve this?! When we think about "Good" people, we often think of those Good Samaritans, people of integrity, givers, those who are humble at heart, just those people who are angelic ya know? Basically, saints. Saints are those who follow and serve the Lord wholeheartedly. The ones whom have been saved from their sins. Yet, do they always have the best of life? Do their plans always succeed spot on? Do they always have nice things just because they serve an Almighty God? Not always. So why on God's green earth do BAD things happen to "Good" people?
- Let's keep in mind that God loves us all so very much! No matter what we do. We are His creation, sinner and saint. (Ephesians 2:10) However, although we are all His creation, does not mean we are all His children! God said He disciplines those who are His children, those who truly serve Him. That saint you know who lost their job, or got their home taken away? It's all for their good! We don't know their story or even what area God wants to discipline but just know that God is doing something!
2. God wants you to GROW! How can we ever move forward in life until we learn that we have to fall backwards a little bit? We don't really "go" through things, we GROW through them. When you start to realize this, you will appreciate the hardships a lot more. God wants our patience and endurance to grow so we can be perfect in our faith!"If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all. Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever?
For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness."- Hebrews 12:8-10
3. God wants you to recognize your need for Him! Just like when the sinners get blessings, God wants them to recognize their dire need for change! He wants them to see His work being done in their lives. Romans 2 So to the saints, He wants you to stay near to Him. Hold tight to His promises. If you had everything you wanted, you would probably turn away. But He is the provider of all our needs, the birds don't even go hungry! Matthew 6:26 Whatever you feel you're not fairly growing through, you have to remember that God has wonderful plans for you. We should feel joyful when our patience and faith has a chance to grow for He is preparing you for something bigger than your circumstance. James 1"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."- James 1:2-4
I know you may say this is "easier said than done" but I encourage you to just grow through your many tests and trials. Don't think about being picked on like I used to, but do think about being conditioned for greater! And it doesn't help to look at other people's path and compare yourself, as I used to. We all have our different paths and disciplines in life. God knows and loves you and He only wants to give you the best so you can BE your best in His perfect timing. So don't worry about anything, but pray about everything! Philippians 4:6"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."- Jeremiah 29:11
