I'll be honest, sometimes I just don't have it together. Actually, if I'm really really honest, I haven't felt like I've had it together for the past three years. So much has happened that has transformed my life into a completely new one. The same people that were around are no longer here, my career is totally different from what I've imagined, my hair doesn't even look the same... I've felt so out of order and often pray and wonder,"When will this tiresome season move on?"

It's tough to think about, because you partially feel like it's all your fault. And then you start to wonder if you deserve to be saved from the trouble, then you start to think your prayers are falling through the floor. 😔 UGH. Can this human experience be just a little bit better?

The more I grow or go through this season, (not sure which one I'm doing at this point but God says all things are working for my good if I love Him so let's go with GROW) I'm being more honest and upfront with God. I mean, that's all I've got...HE'S all I've got. I'm at the crossroads of my mess and I just want to walk with God through it.

I don't know a lot of things, but what I do know is when we don't have it together, God still does. He is watching over us carefully.

"casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]." - 1 Peter 5:7 AMP

You may feel like you're left all alone to figure this out, but you are not. I had to remember that no matter how far left I've gone, God can get me right.

So what can you start doing now that you are aware you don't have it all together?

  • Return to God with all of your heart in prayer (Joel 2:12)
  • Praise Him and thank Him for His faithfulness in your unfaithfulness (Jeremiah 31:3)
  • Don't concern yourself with things your human mind can't understand (Psalms 131)
  • Continue to study, internalize, and obey scripture one day at a time.

I decided to write about this while I was at work. I had just received some "not so happy" news on one of my breaks. To be honest, the news was not a surprise. We have been living under a curse for more than a decade. It just hurts when you pray and bless something, but it falls through anyway. How can I pray and bless something that has years of curses attached to it? And it always strikes RIGHT before the holidays... It caught me off guard this year because I had so much hope for things to be different.

I had to remind myself that things ARE different and not to lose hope in the eye of this storm. Because He remains in control! We can pray and bless things, but God sees way up ahead.

The Excellence in God's Works
…10I have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves. 11He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end."
in the eye of the storm He remains in control     He can see what we can't see. I was once told by my cousin that God works best in turmoil, crisis, and grief. It makes sense, He tells us in II Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you. For my strength is made perfect in your weakness." When we are weak, grieved, and tortured, He is stronger. I learned a long time ago that when we ask God for something, whether it be a spouse, a new job, car, etc...you don't always get that immediately. First of all, it has to be according to His will (1 John 5:14). But whatever you ask for, you'd better get ready because you really just asked for training. We're not always ready to receive.

God gave me a vision for my life regarding my purpose over a year ago and it has been a raging storm ever since!!! Not saying that this is what will happen for you. But for me, He wants me to be ready for my purpose, and He wanted me to see who I really was without Him...a hot mess I tell you. And He recently gave me a vision for my family...doesn't mean we can receive it now. But I have to bite my tongue and choke back my tears as I watch Him move in this redemption process to restore us to who He wants us to be as a family. The storms are actually an encouragement. You know why? It means He's working and He has it under control!!

"OMG you're such a scaredy cat! You know I got you!!!" lol mmm...Okay He doesn't put it that way. But He did say this...

Jesus Calms the Storm "…25The disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” 26“You of little faith, Jesus replied, “why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was perfectly calm. 27The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey Him!”…" - Matthew 8:25-26

"UUGGGHH are you REALLY worrying about this AGAIN?!" Okay okay, not quite the way He said it. But He told us to not worry...

Do Not Worry
…29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’…"- Matthew 6:29-31

"GET UP and PRAISE MY NAME!!"
Stand Firm in the Lord…5Let your gentleness be obvious to everyone. The Lord is near. 6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.…

Now, there's plenty more where that came from...but that can be your homework! Find your Bible and dig into the Word of God and see what else He has to say to us when we panic, "us of little faith." We can pretty much sum up what God tells us:

  1. JESUS CALMS THE STORM!!
  2. DO NOT WORRY!!
  3. STAND FIRM IN THE LORD!!
God bless you !! Be sure to share this with someone whom you know is panicking in their situation. If you have any questions, need guidance, or a prayer request, please send me a message! I'd love to hear from you.

See that robot? See how it's programmed to constantly move that way? It's like its doing a defective robot dance. Very similar to how we usually feel at work! We have to follow rules, policies, guidelines, and regulations. We have to behave in compliance to our lead, boss, managers, supervisors, etc. Or else you'll be unemployed!

If you are anything like me, sometimes work just gets under your skin. You look around and you're like, "I know I should be doing something else!" or, "I'm sooo tired of doing the same ole same ole." And what's even crazier is, you could be saying this and you JUST started in Corporate America, and you can be saying this if you've been working for twenty plus years... Either way, we are tired. Okay maybe the newbies don't deserve to be tired, but we sure are tired of being robotic!
Here's what grinds my gears about my place of employment that really turns me into a robot:
  1. they don't want us talking at all
  2. they barely want us leaving the facility for breaks
  3. and one of our newest tick offs, they want us to wear aprons over our clothes
Let me explain briefly why this is annoying, there is no personality in those rules!!!
One of the most important characteristics in enjoying your work is to bring your personality. I mean c'mon, it's YOU. If we can't talk AT ALL then there is no self-expression. If they don't really like us leaving for breaks, then there is no change in scenery. There's no "happy place" if you will. And if we have to wear those aprons, there is no personal style. Now I'm a young woman, so this is important to me lol.
Don't get me wrong here, I'm not bashing my company I work for. I'm just giving you examples of how robotic work can be. So is there a way around being robotic at work without breaking rules? I'm so glad you asked! I'm gonna share with you something I have at work that keeps me from being a robot. It's helps me to be more grateful for where I am, and reminds me of the process and not just my circumstance.
See these sticky notes? This is on my desktop. The one on front lists 10 Things I'm Grateful for, my job being one of them. The others list my daily affirmations. If we learn to practice gratefulness, we won't be so tired and frustrated with our jobs. If we set goals AND work towards them at our place of employment, we won't feel complacent and stuck there.
We should enjoy where we are and be thankful for the process. And guess what? Because I am grateful, I can bring my personality no matter the rules. You should see me, I'm the most giggly, stylish, and joyful person at work! When we are grateful and have integrity where we are now, there are no worries and we can be trusted to move up to the life we desire.
"Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life. This is truly a gift from God." - Ecclesiastes 5:18-19

Who's In Your Boat?
Have you ever wondered why your business or your career wasn't so fulfilling and never seemed to "work"? Maybe you tried purchasing different trainings, or you tried looking for a better job opportunity and it just wasn't helpful. A lot of times people forget to go back to the basics and get to the root of the problem (kinda like what nurses and doctors do), they try to suppress the symptoms.

Well, I read a passage that spoke VOLUMES to me.

"Peter was a professional fisherman but even he couldn't catch fish at all one day. He was hesitant to let Jesus in his boat because of his pride. But when he allowed Jesus to take control, his boat was overflowing with fish." (Luke 5:5-7)

What does this mean? Sometimes when we give our best, it's not good enough. A lot of things we just can't control. You have to let Jesus in your boat (your job, career, business). Our lives aren't made to create them alone. : ) Allow Jesus to overflow your boat.

Hebrews 12:11
"No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening-it's painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way."
Discipline SUCKS. After weeks of being confused about what God was doing with my life, I finally have a little insight. He knows us better than we know ourselves even though we may think differently. He is the Father and we are His children, that is, if you have received Christ into your life. ("But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, he gave the right to become children of God."- John 1:12)
There was this passage I read the other day in my Daily Bread book about how God disciplines us. The passage used the analogy of an eagle family. Yes, birds..but it will make perfect sense.
"When the eggs hatched, Mama and Papa Eagle were attentive to their offspring, taking turns hunting for food and guarding the nest. But one day when the eagles still looked like fuzzballs with beaks, both parents disappeared. The parents didn't abandon their young, they were sitting on a nearby branch."
This makes perfect sense! Our vision is so limited. It may seem like God has abandoned you, but he is nearby watching and waiting, testing our faith and providing discipline to make you stronger.
"As eagles carry their young, God carries his people."- Deuteronomy 32:7-12
